It is with great delight, and some relief, that we recently saw the opening of the new Moncler store at Sydney Airport.
This is an excellent new home for a brand which is truly soaring, both in the Asia Pacific market and globally, at the moment. Not only that, but Moncler has put itself at the forefront of creating in-store excellence for shoppers and delivering a complete and constant brand experience for consumers across both digital and physical.
This new store is a perfect embodiment of all of this for the travel retail market and offers a glimpse into what luxury can do for the market – and why it mattes more than ever. From the bold signage out the front, the shop features Moncler’s iconic colours and styling throughout, creating a piece of the brand’s world for shoppers to explore. This is a gallery of marble and sleek black where shoppers can immerse themselves in the brightly-lit and clearly showcased collections.
What is especially great to see is that this opening is a clear sign of recovery for travel retail and its luxury sector in Australia and Asia Pacific in the wake of the pandemic.
Much credit must be given to all those involved in bringing this to life. This opening has been postponed for 18 months and this new store is the result of close partnership and strong, bold negotiation on both sides to ensure it remained viable and possible. Securing the necessary sharing of data, especially during a pandemic, was quite the challenge and was only possible due to the expertise and close working relationships of those involved.
This is more than a store. It is a showcase of the work and co-operation that is needed to make new openings happen in our new normal An exciting offer requires a new and fresh offer and openness, collaboration and expertise will be vital in ensuring our industry can rebuild around the world.
The finished product in Sydney is truly stunning. Inside, shoppers will find exactly what they need, all sorted into different dedicated worlds; from men’s and women’s to shoes, children’s and an area dedicated to the innovative Genius line which has set the brand apart and made headlines across the luxury sector.
I would like to commend and thank all those involved in helping to bring this store to life. It is a sign of where we are going and how we can get there.
