The historic balsamic vinegar brand Acetaia Malpighi is poised to enter the travel retail market.
The company, which can trace its history back almost 200 years, is renowned as one of the finest Acetaia – or producers of vinegar – in the world. The brand dates back to 1850, when Pietro Malpighi passed to his son Augusto the recipe to produce real “natural vinegar”.
Today, Massimo Malpighi is the fifth generation of the family to lead this company, whose award-winning produce has been appreciated by food and wine lovers in delicatessens, shops, luxury hotels and restaurants around the world.
Now the company is delighted to be moving into the travel retail market, to bring a true taste of Italian excellence to new customers who can discover this historic product and the heritage behind it.

Growing from a small, family firm, the company now exports 70% of its product and has created more than 3,500 barrels of premium Aceto Balsamico. To preserve the luxury nature of the product, Acetaia Malpighi has never distributed its product in supermarkets, working with only the most exclusive outlets to showcase both the family’s philosophy and its historic recipe.
